One of Konya’s most significant historical and cultural landmarks, the Mevlana Museum was built in honor of the famous Sufi mystic and poet Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, who lived in the 13th century. Historical and Architectural Features

Originally built as Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi’s tomb, the Mevlana Museum was expanded with additional structures surrounding the tomb after Rumi's death in 1274, undergoing various renovations over the centuries.
